This fasting and prayer program is an instruction from the Lord for us to dedicate the start of the year to spiritual exercise. As the Bible states in Matthew 17:21, “This kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.” There are mountains in our lives that cannot be moved, and spiritual heights that cannot be attained, without fasting and prayer.
